Job Description

DUTIES: Collaborate with the team to execute digital models that meet time and quality requirements for assigned programs. Take ownership of safety concerns and ensure their resolution. Create high-quality aesthetic surfaces for digital models throughout the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP). Hold yourself and others accountable for delivering measurable, high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Support surface releases that meet Design approval, production engineering, PQ input, and data release requirements. Follow and contribute to the development of common GM Global Design processes and best practices. Foster collaboration opportunities to achieve goals. Facilitate WSR and DSR meetings. Track and escalate sculpting, engineering, and design issues. Encourage team usage of Teamcenter and SharePoint, or similar corporate data sharing systems. Adhere to common GM Global Design processes. Attend relevant program-related meetings as defined by the Sculpting Group Manager.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study and Ten (10) years of experience as a Digital Sculptor, Digital Design Manager, Industrial Design Engineer, or related role. Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Determining timing requirements for GVDP model execution; NX/Alias software; Automotive production and manufacturing processes; Die pull, Draft, Graining, Parting Line Gap, Flush, and Formability requirements; Vehicle packaging and integration requirements; Led creative teams on a minimum of 3-5 assignments for smaller scope programs starting pre-PFI; Creating and refining digital automotive component models in collaboration with engineers and designers; and Utilizing local digital math surfacing, virtual reality design, and digital modeling capabilities.
