Fire Sprinkler Designer

Brownsville, TN


Tier 1 Fire Protection is a growing leader in the Fire Life Protection industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is an onsite position based in Brownsville, Tennessee, and relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.


What you will do.

As a Fire Sprinkler Designer, you will be responsible for the design and layout of fire sprinkler systems for a variety of projects. You will work closely with project managers, field personnel, contractors, and other trades to develop accurate, code-compliant designs and help ensure projects move successfully from design through installation. As Tier 1 Fire Protection continues to grow and project volume increases, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a Design Manager position and take on increased leadership responsibility.


Job duties could include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and layout fire sprinkler systems for commercial and other construction projects
  • Develop accurate fire sprinkler plans, drawings, and system layouts
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and project specifications
  • Coordinate fire sprinkler designs with other trades throughout the construction process
  • Participate in BIM coordination and identify and resolve potential design conflicts
  • Perform design calculations and prepare required project documentation
  • Make drawing revisions based on coordination requirements, field conditions, and project changes
  • Work closely with project managers, field personnel, contractors, engineers, and other members of the project team
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable NFPA standards, local codes, project specifications, and AHJ requirements
  • Assist with project submittals, revisions, and approvals as needed
  • Manage multiple design projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting project deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with both internal team members and external project partners
  • Perform all job duties with a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Fire Sprinkler design experience
  • NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout or higher preferred
  • Experience with fire sprinkler system layout and design
  • Experience with BIM coordination
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Working knowledge of applicable fire sprinkler codes and NFPA standards
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Brownsville, TN
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a project team


Compensation

$70,000-$120,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.
