Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. The Entrepreneurship Assistant (EA) will conduct market assessment of the bio-emulsifiers technology and develop report in the areas supporting the following elements of setting up business:

1. Primary Market Research (Customer discovery and validation)
2. Industry Analysis/Secondary Market Research (Conducting IP analysis, SWOT & PEST analysis, and utilizing competitive forces model to study the market forces landscape that might affect startups)
3. Business Model Generation / Applying Entrepreneurial Strategy Compass (ESC) to assess potential go-to-market strategies.

Job Duty 1 -
Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.
Job Duty 2 -
Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.
Job Duty 3 -
Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
Job Duty 4 -
May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.
Job Duty 5 -
Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

The position requires 40 hours ($25/hr.) per week in the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters The EA will:

• Attend training sessions on Lean Startup methodology.
• Conduct customer discovery interviews and perform other activities listed above in the position overview section.
• Attend weekly check-in sessions.
• Prepare and submit a final report summarizing the technology assessment and a 2-min summary video on technology assessed at the end of the program.

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma
Required Experience
Up to two years of job related experience

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications is required.
