Job description

Summary

Supports the Design Team in the planning and execution of aviation design projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Design Team in performing the following: organizing the material library, preparing presentation boards, printing presentation materials, updating the portfolio wall, and coordinating with suppliers.
  • Supports preparing illustrations for proposal and program (i.e. colored deck plans, elevations). 
  • May assist in the creation and on-going updates to the Material and Furnishing Identification Sheets (MIDS/FIDS) for programs, including the Clipping for Approval (CFA) folders and associated samples and mock-ups.
  • Assist preparing AutoCAD working drawings from sketches and design specifications, and support redline updates to drawings, as required.
  • Contributes to a positive work atmosphere by displaying productive behavior and communication focused on building effective working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management.   
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Pursuit of or fulfillment of a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in design or related discipline from a four-year College or university; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and design software such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop) and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated ability to hand-sketch and communicate creative design ideas.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.

The pay rate for this position is $23/hr.
