Design Engineer

We are seeking a Design Engineer to develop custom products and packaging solutions from concept through production. This role works closely with Sales, Operations, Quality, and customers to design new products, improve manufacturing processes, support product launches, and ensure designs meet quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.

Requirements of the Design Engineer

  • 3-5 years of engineering or product design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20%
  • Experience with flexible films, medical packaging, or converting operations preferred
  • Experience with RF welding, heat sealing, ultrasonic welding, extrusion, laminating, pouch manufacturing, or printing technologies preferred
  • Experience supporting customer design reviews, product validations, or manufacturing processes preferred

Responsibilities of the Design Engineer

  • Design custom products and flexible packaging solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Develop product concepts, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials
  • Build prototypes and support product testing and commercialization
  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements
  • Prepare project estimates, timelines, and technical proposals
  • Lead cross-functional product development projects from concept through production
  • Partner with Operations to ensure designs can be efficiently manufactured
  • Support product transfers, process validations, equipment qualifications, and new product launches
  • Create and maintain design documentation, specifications, and manufacturing instructions
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve products


Full-Time, DIRECT HIRE

Pay is $110,000 - $115,000 annually, based on experience
