Family Medicine Residency Program Director

Laurel, Mississippi


Position Highlights: 

  • Lead and direct a new Family Medicine Residency Program
  • Design and implement an innovative, high-quality curriculum aligned with ACGME standards and evolving healthcare needs. Much of the curriculum is already designed.
  • Teach and practice both outpatient and inpatient medicine (obstetrics optional)
  • 60% or more administrative time. Maintain clinical practice (20–40%, 1–2 weekdays) to remain engaged in patient care and model excellence for residents
  • Oversee resident and faculty scholarly activity, including quality improvement, patient safety, and community health initiatives
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-caliber faculty and residents
  • Collaborate closely with the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), hospital leadership, and community partners
  • Epic EMR
  • Monday–Friday schedule with no required weekends for administrative duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop full ACGME accreditation
  • Provide leadership in faculty development and residency recruitment
  • Ensure excellence in resident education, board preparation, and scholarly activity
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate residents across ambulatory and inpatient settings
  • Guide continuous improvement of curriculum and educational outcomes
  • Promote program growth, sustainability, and community engagement

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $280,000 (negotiable based on experience)
