Job description

Design & Estimating Coordinator
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: Approximately $60,000 annually, depending on experience
Reports To: Process Lead - Design & Tenders
The Opportunity
Our client is an established building materials and construction solutions company supporting residential, commercial, multifamily and prefabricated construction projects across Western Canada.
They are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Design & Estimating Coordinator to join their Edmonton team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in project coordination, estimating support, construction administration or customer service who would like to build a career within the building materials industry.
Recent graduates from architectural technology, engineering technology, construction management or a related program are also encouraged to apply. Direct experience with trusses or engineered wood products is helpful, but not required. Training and mentorship will be provided.
The Role
Working closely with the sales, design and estimating teams, you will help coordinate customer quotations, design information and project documentation. You will ensure requests are organized, information is complete and quotes move through the department accurately and on time.
This position would suit someone who enjoys working with details, managing multiple priorities and keeping projects organized behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare customer quotations for roof trusses, floor systems and related building components
  • Upload completed design files into pricing systems and prepare quotes for customers
  • Review floor layouts, drawings and project information to support accurate pricing
  • Coordinate quote requests, revisions and supporting information with sales representatives
  • Track the status of quotes and follow up on outstanding information
  • Coordinate workflow between the sales, design and estimating teams
  • Monitor and manage the department's shared inbox
  • Help schedule and track design and estimating deliverables
  • Maintain organized electronic project files, drawings and records
  • Coordinate information and documentation between internal departments
  • Assist with assembling tender and project documentation
  • Support reporting, project tracking and ongoing process improvements
What You Bring
  • Experience in coordination, project support, estimating, customer service or administration
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple requests and changing priorities
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Confidence working with numbers, documents and technical information
  • Comfortable learning new software and internal processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience in construction, building materials, manufacturing, architecture or engineering is an asset
