What You'll Do as a Provider Liaison/Business Development Manager
  • Identify new business opportunities and serve as the communication liaison with local medical providers.
  • Partner with the creative team, executive leaders, physician partners, and other stakeholders to research, design, and implement multichannel business development and marketing plans.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local and regional media outlets; coordinate media escorts, create talking points, and prepare subject matter experts for interviews.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to community groups, telling the UNC Health Appalachian story.
  • Serve as a data analyst for the marketing team - monitoring key performance indicators and evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Approach work with a bias for action, efficiency, and personal accountability, modeling UNC Health Appalachian's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Foster professional, productive working relationships that promote a healthy work environment.

Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field of study. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of healthcare marketing and communications experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • None required.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong communication skills; ability to work within the chain of command using positive verbal and non-verbal techniques.
    • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with local media (newspapers, news channels, etc.).
    • Knowledge of the continuum of care provided within the organization.
    • Exceptional customer service for patients, families, staff, and physicians.

Physical & Work Environment
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, often 8+ hours per day.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Frequent hand, finger, and wrist repetition; near visual acuity and close eye work; speaking, reading, and writing for extended periods.
  • Occasional local and regional travel for media, community, and stakeholder engagements.
  • May occasionally work outside standard hours for events or media commitments.
