Walpole Outdoors is seeking a full-time Sales & Design Consultant to serve the Virginia territory in both residential & commercial capacities. Key Responsibilities
Sales & Design Consultants travel to client's property to determine how Walpole Outdoors product may improve the property's aesthetic or functional quality. After consultation with the client the Sales & Design Consultant will quote products needed and sell the client on the value of Walpole Outdoors integrated solution including design consultation, product manufacturing, delivery, and installation, while providing exceptional end-to-end customer experience.
Duties
  • Schedule and attend site visits punctually, ensuring a professional and courteous presence
  • Research clients and opportunities using online tools before site visits
  • Represent Walpole with expertise, enthusiasm, and professionalism when meeting with clients
  • Engage customers by building rapport and demonstrating in-depth knowledge of Walpole's products, competitive advantages, and market trends
  • Provide clear product recommendations and gather immediate client feedback when appropriate
  • Prepare and present written quotes, reviewing them in person with the client
  • Accurately document products and services to be converted into SAGE Sales Orders
  • Assist with payment collection as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records using the company's CRM (Salesforce)
  • Ensure consistent client communication throughout the entire sales process
  • Collaborate with Showroom Managers to enhance overall sales effectiveness
  • Schedule client showroom visits to showcase products when appropriate
  • Contribute to financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions
  • Stay informed on industry trends by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in company training sessions

Requirements
  • Passion for outdoor design and interest in Walpole Outdoors' products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude with a strong customer focus
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM (preferred) and other computer applications
  • Experience managing a book of business up to $6M
  • Advanced education preferred
  • Valid driver's license and a safe, reliable vehicle
  • Ability to travel within the territory (80%-day travel, minimal overnight travel)
