Design Assistant

Company Overview:

Triton serves both commercial and residential markets, delivering high-quality stone slabs, countertops, and related materials to fabricators, contractors, and design professionals.

Job Description:

As the design assistant, you will be collaborating closely with the designated Senior Design Consultants to find products and solutions that accomplish the clients' design goals. The successful associate will be motivated, highly organized, and have a positive attitude.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be highly courteous, professional, detail-oriented, and resourceful
  • Assist Design Consultants with clients/designers/builders/fabricators
    • Record and notate selections during meetings
    • Participate in the project selection process
    • Create virtual look books for clients
    • JDC will be copied in on all emails for the second personnel communication
    • Request samples if needed
    • Aid in follow-up emails and phone calls
    • Scan, email, or input documents as needed
  • Buffer and/or stand-in for designated Design Consultant meetings
    • If DC is absent or delayed with other appointments
  • Actively update client opportunities/holds in the system based on meetings, phone calls, or in-person discussions
  • Call vendors to check stock and manage order status
    • Record and send tracking information for orders
    • Notify customers when tile orders are ready for pickup
  • Participate in internal Design Consultant meetings and PKs
  • Take photos of material requests
  • Prep samples/orders for client pick-ups and general inventory
  • Organize showroom (including tile, stone, and quartz samples)
  • Answer the office phone
    • Assist on phone calls when DC is unavailable
  • Cover the reception desk for lunches

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 2 years of reception/general office experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (including Word and Excel)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Polished image
  • Must pass work eligibility requirements.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred

Position Information:

  • Job Status: Full Time.
