Job description

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will support manufacturing operations by applying expertise in tooling, products, processes, and equipment to optimize production. This role leverages the latest advancements in tooling, equipment, materials, and part design to achieve the highest quality, greatest efficiency, and lowest possible production cost.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create cost estimates and quotes for new and/or revised products. Initiate quote according to specifications, determining process methods, required equipment and optimum rates.
  • Assist Sales Department to determine manufacturing feasibility for product design and cost reduction programs.
  • Review part designs with customers and provide feedback for manufacturability and process optimization. Facilitate the creation of CAD designs as needed.
  • Specify, order and perform follow-up for tooling and related support equipment. Assure proper workmanship and adherence to manufacturing tolerances. Maintain tooling cost and timing records. Meet agreed upon targets to ensure financial goals are met and production goals are achieved.
  • Develop and design new product and processes using CAD. Including but not limited to stamping blank design, production layouts, and process plans.
  • Develop and maintain all supporting documents of activities in an organized manner for easy retrieval for review and consideration.
  • Act as a troubleshooter on existing processes to assist in resolution of production problems.
  • Support manufacturing through activities to improve quality, consistency, and output of assigned tooling by recommending, implementing, and documenting improvements. Develop and redesign facility layouts; promote continuous process improvements.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
