Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Instructional Design Assistant helps the Global Campus with many tasks related to the effective design and delivery of online and hybrid courses. The person in this position will perform various tasks related to setting up, arranging, and editing course documents and the Learning Management System course pages.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:
  • Provide assistance to Instructional Designers in setting up, arranging, and editing course documents
  • Provide assistance in setting up, organizing, and maintaining the LMS course page
  • Coordinate course documents and schedules for Instructional Designers
  • Convert course documents to departmental design standards
  • Learn and apply contemporary educational practices for online and hybrid learning
  • Learn and apply quality online instructional design
  • Work alongside Global Campus staff
  • Use select educational software (training and guidance will be provided)
  • Report to Lead Instructional Designer on status of tasks

Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION:
The person in this position should have a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience with online learning is a plus but not required. Experience with video or instructional technology background is a plus.
SUPERVISION:
The person in this position will supervise no one. The person in this position will report to the Director of Online Learning.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The person in this position will work in a typical office environment between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
EQUIPMENT:
The person in this position will use the following equipment: Computer with proficiency in Google Docs, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. This person will also work with the Canvas LMS, video review software, AI tools for quality assurance, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
