Position Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager will collaborate with the Project Manager across all phases of project delivery, providing oversight on complex design and construction projects to drive high-level results while maintaining and strengthening client relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor project progress and deliver timely updates to the Project Manager.

• Assist the Project Manager in day-to-day project oversight and administration, including scheduling, estimating, quality management, and reporting.

• Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients to ensure project satisfaction.

• Ensure successful delivery of projects of significant scale and considerable complexity on time, on budget, high quality, and environmental compliance.

• Support the management of projects from preconstruction through final closeout.

• Ensure environmental, safety, and quality compliance and oversee utility coordination throughout the construction process.

• Partner with Project Manager to ensure inspection tasks are adequately covered and all project construction activities are accurately documented.

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical or mechanical preferred.

• 3-5 years of experience in facilities construction preferred.

Physical Demands

The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 2/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 1/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 1/3 of the day.

This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 10 pounds on an infrequent basis.

The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see for a distance are also necessary.
