We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager in Bridge Engineering to join our widely respected and growing Transportation Division in our Freeport, ME Office location. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a growing local team of bridge engineers with support and mentorship from Bridge Practice leadership.
  • Oversee all aspects of highway structural inspection, design, load rating, and construction support for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, sign structures, etc.
  • Manage multidiscipline projects and meet agreed-upon budgets and schedules.
  • Make public presentations.
  • Perform quality control reviews.
  • Assist with the development of staff including workloads, training, and career planning, potential for supervisory role.
  • Develop or review all aspects of engineering studies including data collection, models, plans, and estimates.
  • Work with state or municipal clients on Bridge infrastructure projects, including the design and management of public state, county, and city/town projects.
  • Developing new and existing client relations and business development opportunities.
  • Assist with proposal preparation to secure new work.
  • Serve as local Bridge Discipline lead on pursuits and opportunities.
  • Represent MJ at industry and professional society events.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering minimum, Master of Science desirable.
  • Professional Engineer license required with the ability to apply for comity in other states.
  • 10+ years of progressive Bridge engineering analysis, design, and project management experience.
  • Project experience with MaineDOT required.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to foster business development relationships.
  • Public presentation experience required.
  • Strong business development skills and experience are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent track record of financial success, delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team, develop and maintain client relations, and meet project demands and schedules.
