Job description

As a Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for launching new product development and new applications at the customer and developing top down functional requirement and design, simulate and qualify full product to meet customer needs. You will have end to end responsibility for flawless launch, with performance / cost / reliability / APQP and timing. 

You will be responsible for launching new product development and new applications at the customer and developing top down functional requirement and design, simulate and qualify full product to meet customer needs. You will have end to end responsibility for flawless launch, with performance / cost / reliability / APQP and timing. 

Your role:

  • End to End Product Ownership, meeting all turbocharger functional requirements (Performance, Reliability, Quality, Costs & Timing) to meet engine specifications
  • Customer Interface - Single Point of Contact to Customer for Launch 
  • Matching, Design, Simulation, Validation (DVP&R), Turbo Release (TRA) 
  • Accountable for Internal & External APQP (advanced product planning quality) on full Bill Of Material - Sign off turbo, component PPAP deviations (APQP output) 
  • Accountable for 2D & 3D creation and quality according to documented Design Standards & guidelines 
  • Ensure proper application & use of standard Design processes & tools, as defined by functional matrix 
  • Support Design quality issue investigations (8D's) and lead implementation of corrective actions 

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field 
  • 3+ years of experience with developing and/or launching turbochargers or diesel & natural gas powertrain products in the automotive industry
  • Proven track record with product validation and launch experience as well as product development and component design 
        Experience with direct customer interface 
        Strong communications skills and sense of urgency 
        Team player, growth and customer focus
