Role Overview:
We are seeking an Education Account Manager to engage with select educational institutions, ensuring deep, formalized relationships that drive adoption of Onshape's innovative CAD platform. You will introduce Onshape to new schools and universities while helping those already familiar with the software maximize its impact on their students. This role is ideal for a passionate advocate of education and technology who is motivated by building long-lasting partnerships and delivering real value in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Grow Onshape's footprint in the education sector through targeted outreach and account management strategies.

  • Cultivate strong, formalized relationships with key K12 and higher ed institutions to drive deeper engagement with Onshape, identifying opportunities for deeper integration and expansion.

  • Introduce Onshape's cloud-native CAD platform to new educational institutions, highlighting how it can enhance their engineering and design programs.

  • Engage with university and K12 decision-makers to formalize partnerships that incorporate Onshape into their curriculum.

  • Develop strategies to introduce Onshape to new educational institutions, focusing on value-driven discussions and tailored solutions.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Success teams to align your territory strategy with broader business objectives, including event participation and digital marketing efforts.

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic accounts, balancing new business development with relationship nurturing.

  • Partner with Education Solutions Engineers to demonstrate Onshape's capabilities, overcoming technical objections where necessary.

  • Maintain accurate records of account activities in Salesforce, providing regular updates on progress and forecasts.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, Education, or a related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in account management, sales, or education-related roles.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions.

  • Basic understanding of CAD software and its applications in engineering education.

  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

  • Proficiency in English is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience closing sales and driving customer success, particularly in the education or technology sectors.

PTC carefully considers a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $100,000. The anticipated annual salary range encompasses both the base salary and the on-target incentive compensation that may be attained in this role. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Eligible employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP) which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
