Public Health Nurse or Registered Nurse
Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services
Serving Cottonwood and Jackson Counties
Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services (DVHHS) currently has a full time opening for a Public Health Nurse or Registered Nurse. The Public Health Nurse or Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care to assess physical, emotional and medical needs of families, carries out established plans of care, updates records, completes documentation of care, assists families in achieving goals, coordinates with school personnel and refers family health clients to community resources. Duties also include providing client/family assessments, teaching and coordination, screening, monitoring for complications and assisting families/clients to recognize early signs of disease and deviations from normal health.
Minimum qualifications of education and experience for this position: This position requires either a bachelor's or associate degree in nursing, and a current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Minnesota. A valid driver's license is also required.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual and Current Public Health Nurse certification

The Public Health Nurse position is classified in Grade 14 on the DVHHS Compensation Plan with a full pay range of $31.47 - $41.12 per hour.
The Registered Nurse position is classified in Grade 13 on the DVHHS Compensation Plan with a full pay range of $29.71 - $38.77 per hour.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with a full benefit package which includes Public Employee Retirement pension.
In order to ensure the safety of citizens, employees and property, DVHHS has adopted a drug and alcohol testing policy which applies to all candidates being considered for employment with DVHHS. A Drug and Alcohol test must be completed within 24 hours of all contingent verbal offers of employment, unless alternate scheduling arrangements are approved by Human Resources office.
