Dermacare Physiotherapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Urgent Care Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team in Arlington, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will be an essential pillar of our primary care outpatient clinic, tasked with diagnosing and treating a diverse range of health conditions while promoting preventative health measures. Work Environment

This position is located in our Arlington surgical center, a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and resources. The center will encourage collaboration amongst medical staff, promoting an atmosphere conducive to learning and professional excellence. You will work a standard Monday to Friday schedule, with shifts starting at 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including thorough physical examinations and evaluations of medical histories to inform healthcare decisions.
  • Order and interpret a wide array of diagnostic tests, from routine blood work to sophisticated imaging studies such as X-rays.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and effectively managing acute health issues, providing prompt treatments to mitigate complications.
  • Craft and execute tailored treatment plans for patients with chronic diseases, ensuring continuity of care and regular follow-up.
  • Prescribe medications responsibly, monitor patient responses, and make necessary adjustments based on clinical outcomes.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations, using electronic health record (EHR) systems to optimize care delivery.
  • Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options and preventive strategies to foster a proactive approach to health.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and research to stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with a diverse patient demographic, including individuals facing acute medical situations, routine health checks, and preventative care. Our focus on enhancing health literacy among patients will empower them to take an active role in their own health management, ensuring effective outcomes and high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program is mandatory.
  • A valid state license for practice as a Physician Assistant and a passing score on the national certification exam is required.
  • Demonstrable clinical experience in settings such as clinics, hospitals, emergency rooms, or urgent care facilities.
  • Expertise in both primary and acute care practices, with a strong grasp of relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong ethical values, a commitment to patient-centered care, and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations, demonstrating patience and resilience.
  • A DEA number is required for this position.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in an integrative healthcare setting with a focus on urgent care approaches.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages is a plus but not mandatory.

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000, contingent on experience and qualifications.
