Pay Rate Range: $110-$120/hr w2

Position Summary

The Deputy Facility Operations Manager is a key operational leader responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a world-class LNG export facility. This role provides leadership to the operations organization during commissioning, startup, and ongoing plant operations, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company safety standards.

Working closely with the Facility Operations Manager, the Deputy Facility Operations Manager oversees shift operations, develops operational readiness, and ensures personnel possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to safely operate the facility. The successful candidate will have significant LNG operating experience, including extensive knowledge of APCI liquefaction technology, and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Facility Operations Manager in providing leadership and direction to the operations organization, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant systems.
• Ensure Operations Shift Teams complete required training, competency assessments, and qualification programs to perform their roles safely and effectively.
• Lead and oversee day-to-day operational activities during commissioning, startup, and initial operations, including startup, shutdown, and continuous operation of liquefaction, gas pretreatment, utilities, storage, and marine loading systems.
• Serve as the senior operational authority during assigned shifts, making timely decisions to resolve operational issues, abnormal conditions, and emergency situations.
• Coordinate closely with Commissioning & Startup (CSU), Construction, Maintenance, Engineering, Automation, and other departments to ensure safe and efficient plant startup and ongoing operations.
• Oversee plant monitoring and control through distributed control systems (DCS) and field operations, ensuring equipment operates within design parameters and established safe operating limits.
• Allocate personnel and operational resources to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.
• Ensure accurate completion of operating logs, shift reports, commissioning documentation, testing records, and other required operational documentation.
• Lead operational readiness activities, including system walkdowns, startup planning, punch-list resolution, and turnover from construction and commissioning to operations.
• Promote a strong process safety culture by ensuring compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, operating procedures, risk assessments, and company safety programs.
• Coach, mentor, and develop operations personnel to build technical capability, operational discipline, and leadership within the organization.
• Monitor plant performance, analyze operational data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement initiatives that enhance reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Manage operational chemical inventories and coordinate procurement activities as required.
• Coordinate contractor and vendor activities supporting plant operations and maintenance.
• Support emergency response planning and serve as a key leader during plant emergencies and incident response activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive operations experience within the LNG, oil and gas, or petrochemical industry, including demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
• Proven experience operating LNG facilities utilizing APCI C3MR or comparable LNG liquefaction technology.
• Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and operational risk management.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage teams in a high-hazard industrial environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure, including during startup activities and emergency situations.
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and plant process control technologies.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, environmental regulations, and operating procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting the commissioning and startup of LNG export facilities.
• Formal training in Incident Command System (ICS), emergency response, or crisis management.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to LNG operations.
• Experience implementing operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
