TEMP - Deputy Manager, Duty

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Deputy Manager, Duty plays a key operational leadership role in overseeing real-time transport operations during assigned shifts for FIFA World Cup 2026โ„ข in Kansas City.

This role supports the coordination of all active transport functions across venues, depots, bus operations, and city-wide mobility services, ensuring seamless execution of the transport plan during live operations.

Working within the Transport Operations Centre (TOC) and wider command structure, the Deputy Manager, Duty acts as a central decision-maker during shifts, ensuring operational issues are resolved quickly and effectively while maintaining alignment with FIFA service levels and safety standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Shift Leadership & Duty Management
โ€ข Act as the operational lead during assigned shifts, overseeing live transport operations across all functional areas.

Real-Time Operations Oversight
โ€ข Monitor and coordinate transport activities across venues, depots, bus staging, Last Mile, LATMP, and rideshare operations.

Command & Control Coordination
โ€ข Monitor and coordinate transport activities across venues, depots, bus staging, Last Mile, LATMP, and rideshare operations.

Incident & Escalation Management
โ€ข Lead response to incidents, disruptions, delays, or safety concerns, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when required.

Stakeholder Coordination
โ€ข Liaise with operational managers, security teams, law enforcement, and city agencies to ensure coordinated responses.

Service Performance Monitoring
โ€ข Track service delivery, vehicle flow, passenger movement, and operational KPIs in real time.

Contingency Implementation
โ€ข Activate contingency plans and adjust operations in response to changing conditions or demand.

Reporting & Handover
โ€ข Provide shift reports, incident logs, and operational updates; ensure smooth handovers between duty shifts.

Staff Oversight
โ€ข Support supervision of operational teams and ensure alignment with workforce deployment and scheduling.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

โ€ข Strong understanding of transport operations, event mobility, and multi-modal coordination.
โ€ข Experience working in operations control environments (TOC, DOC, BOC, or command centres).
โ€ข Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
โ€ข Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
โ€ข Ability to interpret operational data and respond in real time.
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and transport management systems.
โ€ข Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

โ€ข Minimum 4โ€“6 years of experience in transport operations, event logistics, or operations control roles.
โ€ข Experience in large-scale events, command centres, or transport coordination environments preferred.
โ€ข Proven experience in operational leadership or duty management roles.
โ€ข Experience managing multi-functional teams and complex operational environments.
โ€ข Fluency in English required; multilingual or bilingual ability is an advantage.
