Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Centurum is seeking a skilled Test Engineer with expertise in PinPoint and Joint Test Action Group (JTAG) tools to develop and execute test procedures for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies. The role involves developing, updating, reverse engineering, and documenting PCBs; diagnosing and debugging complex PCBs; collaborating across teams to enhance product reliability; analyzing test data; and supporting continuous process improvements. Candidates should have proven experience with in-circuit and boundary scan testing, strong PCB knowledge, and excellent problem solving and communication skills. Experience in test automation is a plus.
The Test Engineer will perform various tests and analyze and document results; Identify and document functional requirements; Review, write, and provide updates to technical documentation; Analyze research and development plans; Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned; and Participate in special projects as required.
This role supports engineering work that helps identify and define new restoration capabilities for the Navy's C4ISR Restoration Depot, including designing, evaluating, planning, testing, and operating C4ISR electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain test procedures for PCB assemblies using PinPoint and JTAG tools.
• Perform fault diagnosis and debugging on complex PCBs.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve product reliability.
• Analyze test data and generate detailed test reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to test processes and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with operating machinery/robots safely and efficiently.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions.
• Proven experience with PinPoint In-Circuit Test (ICT) and JTAG boundary scan testing.
• Strong understanding of PCB design, layout, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in using test equipment and diagnostic tools for PCB analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Implement and verify relevant software upgrades.
• Troubleshoot tester hardware and software issues by working with customer support to resolve, analyze, and improve prototype and production yields and implement best practices for test and repair processes.
• Identify and recommend software solutions, cost reductions, and quality improvements in repair operations.
• Work closely with the Quality team to complete any First Article Inspection Reports or relevant Corrective and Preventive Actions and submit Technical Data Packages to Configuration Management.
• 6 years of recent C4ISR or other relevant Electrical Engineering (EE) experience in designs, builds, installations, testing, documentation, and recommending corrective actions.

This position is required to have and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Utilizes ScanCAD to reverse engineer single and multi-layer PCBs back to schematic drawings.
• Utilizes OrCAD for PCB designs.
• Utilizes SolidWorks to develop 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings and simulations.
• Utilizes Flying Probe Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to fault isolate production PCBs and identify manufacturing defects in new production PCBs.
• Experience with test automation and scripting is a plus.
• Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2015.
REMARKS
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Compensation: $105K - $150K annual salary.
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
