Location: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Northfield, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Raleigh, Reston, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Short Hills, Washington, DC, Wilmington (Hybrid)

Compensation: $235,000โ€“$400,000 (depending on experience and geographic location)

About the Opportunity

Direct Counsel is seeking a Senior Attorney โ€“ Litigation (Class Actions) to join a leading international law firmโ€™s Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions practice. This is a non-partnership track opportunity for an experienced litigation attorney with exceptional legal writing skills who thrives in complex, high-stakes class action matters.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience drafting sophisticated litigation documents and developing case strategy through discovery analysis. While candidates may be based in any U.S. office, those located in the New York metropolitan area are preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Draft dispositive motions, briefs, memoranda, and other complex litigation filings

  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests

  • Analyze discovery materials to develop case strategy and support motion practice

  • Prepare deposition outlines and assist with deposition strategy

  • Collaborate with litigation teams on complex class action and mass tort matters

  • Produce high-quality legal work while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate will practice

  • Minimum of 6 years of litigation experience

  • Strong experience drafting:

    • Motions to dismiss

    • Summary judgment motions

    • Written discovery

    • Other substantive litigation filings

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities while delivering exceptional work product

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with regular in-office collaboration and flexibility for remote work.

Compensation & Benefits
