Job description

About the Role:
Sunshine Tropical Foliage of Florida, INC. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Operations and Sales Assistant to join their team in Homestead, FL. 
This is a dynamic role where you'll play a key part in keeping daily operations running smoothly while helping drive sales in a thriving tropical plant business. 
You will work closely with our Operations & Sales Manager to ensure efficient sales/production/customer services.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficient workflow across departments
  • On QuickBooks software: Process sales orders, prepare pick tickets for packing house and shipping team and process related paperwork
  • Answer phone calls and e-mails professionally
  • Maintain accurate customers and order records 
  • follow-up on accounts receivables collections (e.g. sales accounting, bookkeeping, check deposit, etc)
  • Perform general office duties, including filing.
  • Give support preparing and sending monthly price list, promotional materials, and weekly specials (if any) to customers
  • Help manage scheduling, communications, and administrative tasks as needed
  • Give support in regards monthly statistics follow-up
  • Give support to the nurseries' management in preparing trade-show exhibitions (e.g. TPIE, Landscape Show...)
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by the nurseries owner.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in sales support, operations, or administrative roles preferred
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledges of QuickBooks is a plus
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Experience in horticulture, agriculture, or the plant industry is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong advantage in this market

Work Environment/ Working conditions:
  • The work environment for this position is a mix of indoor and outdoor, both in full-sun exposure and in shade house/greenhouse aeras.
  • Indoor work 70 %. Outdoor work 30 % will require the ability to work in temperature up to and exceeding 100 degrees.
  • Position requires the ability to occasionally fit or otherwise handle and move pots, items weighing up to 50lbs.
