POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial & Regulatory Reporting Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, review, and submission of the Bank's regulatory reports and supports several specialized accounting, treasury, and financial reporting activities. The position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Federal Reserve, and other applicable regulatory reporting requirements.

The Financial & Regulatory Reporting Administrator will have primary responsibility for preparing the quarterly Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income (Call Report) and FRY-9, as well as the weekly FR2900 and FR2644.nd other required regulatory filings. The role will also administer reporting and documentation associated with collateralized deposits, including Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) letters of credit and the North Carolina collateral pool.

In addition, this position supports brokered deposit activity, administration of corporate stock in relation to certain equity compensation transactions, estimated tax payments, and other Finance-related processes. The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, possess strong accounting and analytical skills, and be comfortable independently managing complex processes with firm regulatory deadlines.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare and coordinate the quarterly Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income (Call Report), including supporting schedules, reconciliations, documentation, and required submissions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory reporting instructions and monitor changes in reporting requirements that may affect the Bank.
  • Research regulatory reporting questions and evaluate the appropriate reporting treatment for new products, transactions, or changes in the Bank's activities.
  • Maintain supporting documentation, reconciliations, and appropriate controls to provide a clear audit trail for regulatory filings.
  • Prepare other periodic regulatory reports required by the FDIC, Federal Reserve, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with regulatory examinations, internal and external audits, and requests related to regulatory reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency, documentation, and controls surrounding regulatory reporting processes.
  • Administer the Bank's collateralized public deposit processes, including deposits secured through the North Carolina collateral pool.
  • Administer Federal Home Loan Bank letters of credit used to collateralize deposits, including issuances, renewals, amendments, and related documentation.
  • Monitor collateral requirements and coordinate adjustments as necessary to maintain appropriate collateral coverage for the Bankโ€™s clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and reconciliations related to collateralized deposits and letters of credit.
Brokered Deposits
  • Assist with the administration, accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of brokered deposit activity.
  • Coordinate with internal partners regarding new transactions, maturities, renewals, interest payments, and related activity.
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation and ensure brokered deposits are appropriately reflected in regulatory and financial reporting.
Equity Compensation
  • Assist with accounting and administrative activities related to equity compensation transactions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to process equity awards, exercises, vesting activity, tax withholding, and other equity compensation transactions.
  • Prepare or review related accounting entries, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
Tax and Other Finance Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of federal and state estimated tax payments.
  • Maintain supporting tax payment schedules and coordinate payment activity with appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules associated with assigned responsibilities.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, financial analysis, process improvements, and other Finance initiatives.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Three to five or more years of relevant experience in banking, accounting, regulatory reporting, financial reporting, or a related area preferred.
  • Experience with bank regulatory reporting, including the Call Report, strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of banking products, general ledger accounting, and financial statements.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work effectively with large or complex data sets.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory reporting instructions and accounting guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple recurring processes and meet strict regulatory and financial reporting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • The working conditions are almost exclusively inside with very limited travel.
