Job description

TSC's Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (AISR) Division is actively recruiting a dynamic Aviation Crew Chief to support ground and flight operations at an OCONUS location. Crew Chiefs with experience on the RQ-29, Long Endurance Aircraft (LEA), are encouraged to apply. The selected individual will ensure compliance with contractual and internal requirements to ensure operational maintenance procedures are followed and daily flight operations meets the high-quality performance standard that our customers demand. As an integral member of the operational team, other duties may be assigned. Must be able to travel and/or deploy with relatively short notice (50-75% of time) Responsibilities: * Oversee aircraft maintenance and flight line operations at an OCONUS site.
  • Ensure compliance with flight, ground, training, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and tool control.
  • Prepare technical reports and briefings for operations and engineering teams.
  • Manage COMSEC equipment, consumables, and maintenance tracking.
  • Track and account for critical parts, tools, and components.
Conduct Technical Inspections (TI) and sign off on completed work. Required Knowledge: Expertise in airframe, powerplant, electrical, mechanical, and RF systems troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with FAA, ICAO, DoD, and DCMA maintenance and flight standards.
  • Proficiency in maintenance manuals, Technical Orders, and compliance procedures.
Experience in FOD control, property management, and logistics of Government Furnished Equipment and COMSEC. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of aviation flight line procedures and maintenance operations.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in high-paced environments and collaborate effectively.
  • Expertise in industry standards (FAA/ICAO/DoD) and contract compliance.
  • Experience with Air Vehicle Systems, subsystems, and Technical Manuals.
  • Maintain aircraft system logs and configurations with the logistics team.
Ability to obtain Crew Chief Designation post-training. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (document, spreadsheet, and presentation creation).
  • Experience in technical writing and report preparation using Adobe.
  • Familiarity with digital logging of aviation maintenance per commercial/military standards.
Strong Windows OS knowledge with the ability to train others in digital maintenance tools. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED plus 3 or more years of Maintenance experience on Flight Line or in UAS flight operations
  • US Citizenship with active Secret security clearance.
  • Expertise in Group 3-5 UAS and subsystems.
  • Proficiency in Aircraft Technical Manuals (General Systems, Job Guides, Fault Isolation).
  • Skilled in electrical system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including schematics and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of ESD precautions and electrical safety measures.
  • Proficient in electrical testing tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
  • Composite repair experience (preferred).
  • Capable of line and site-level maintenance and repairs.
  • RQ-29 LEA Crew Chief Qualification.
  • FAA A&P or equivalent (preferred).
  • AA Class 3 Medical Certification.
Aviation experience in OCONUS (deployed) environments. Physical Work Environment & Requirements: Work in austere locations with provided shelter and limited food options.
  • 12-hour outdoor shifts in 100ยฐF+ temperatures.
  • Ability to lift overhead items and move up to 60 lbs.
  • Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, and reach; must have full visual acuity (close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus).
Must be able to walk 1+ miles per day on flight lines and ramps. Safety Equipment: Use of PPE for mechanical, audible, and chemical hazards.
Additional protective gear as required by specific job hazards. Medical Requirements: FAA Class 3 flight physical (annual).
  • Must pass medical and dental evaluations for deployment.
  • Compliance with MOD 17 medical and psychological standards per CENTCOM requirements, with final approval by the CENTCOM Surgeon.
