MEAT DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT MANAGER

As our Assistant Meat Manager, you will assist the Meat Department Manager amp; Store managers with inventory, pricing integrity and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
  • Extensive knowledge of meat products.
  • Maximize productivity and efficiency through proper scheduling.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with computers and computer-based programs, to include but not limited to, ordering, sign creation, inventory and email communication.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the department through, assigning tasks and following up on the department cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain proper product assortment, merchandising and inventory control.
  • Demonstrate advanced product knowledge; maintain awareness of new products and educate employees on products.
  • Reviews inventory for product rotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage and damages.
  • Follow all company guidelines and procedures, to include but not limited to, safety and sanitation.
  • Maximize productivity and efficiency through proper scheduling.
  • Ensures the quality and freshness of products for sale and accuracy of product signage
  • The ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department is required.
  • Highly motivated with a sense of urgency, organized and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times with all levels of employees.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
  • Previous management experience in the retail, grocery, restaurant or food service industry a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and possess basic math skills for ordering and inventory.
  • Shipping amp; receiving knowledge a must.
  • Performs additional duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stock merchandise and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • 3 plus years of experience in either the retail, restaurant, or hospitality field
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in leading teams
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
