Full-Time Dental Assistant – Pediatric Dentistry

Location: Lil Sunshine Smiles Dentistry | Westchase, Tampa, FL

Position Type: Full-Time (In-Person)

Compensation: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Monday through Friday | 40 hours per week

Start Date: Immediate

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, friendly, and experienced Dental Assistant to join our pediatric dental team. The right candidate will demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and a passion for working with children in a supportive and fast-paced clinical environment.

Primary Responsibilities

· • Assist the pediatric dentist during restorative and preventive procedures

· • Take digital x-rays, including bitewings, PAs, and panoramic films (pediatric experience required)

· • Perform prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, and assist with sealants as needed

· • Utilize Dentrix software for charting, treatment planning, and clinical documentation

· • Ensure proper sterilization and infection control procedures are followed at all times

· • Prepare operatory rooms and manage supply inventory

· • Communicate clearly and compassionately with young patients and their families

· • Support front desk operations when needed, including appointment confirmations and patient communication

Qualifications

· • Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience (pediatric experience strongly preferred)

· • Florida X-Ray Certification – Required

· • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification – Required

· • Proficiency in Dentrix or other dental practice management software

· • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

· • Professional presentation and a friendly, patient-centered approach

· • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Compensation & Benefits

· • Competitive hourly pay: $18.00 – $20.00 (based on experience)
