Managing this challenge requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to explain procedures clearly to help build trust. Many dentists use techniques such as gentle reassurance, distraction methods, and, when appropriate, sedation or relaxation techniques. Working closely with dental assistants and hygienists as a team can also help create a more comforting environment, ensuring the patient's experience is as positive as possible.
