Job description

HANAC, Inc. - originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee - is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.
The Assistant Program Director of the HANAC East West Connection Transportation program will be responsible for answering all phone calls, scheduling daily car service orders, scheduling daily routes, maintaining records of financial transactions, filing monthly records, preparing statistical reports, receiving client donations, and assisting the Program Director.
Rate of pay: $25.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm; Full-Time
Location: Astoria, NY 11102
Essential duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain financial records including client contributions deposits.
  • Maintain petty cash records.
  • Scheduling daily car service orders.
  • Office operations - phones, messages, emails, database management, client communications, computer work.
  • Input data into HANAC data program and assist Program Director with NYC Aging STARS database system.
  • Mailing monthly statements and related information to clients.
  • Receive, review, approve bills for approval by Program Director.
  • Create and maintain schedules for all drivers.
  • Maintain all program forms for use by drivers and office personnel.
  • In absence of Program Director, assume supervisory duties.
  • Other tasks as may be required and needed.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in social services, or related field;
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish or English/Greek) preferred.
  • Two years of college and demonstrated experience working with aging populations.
  • Must be flexible, detail-oriented, responsible, reliable, professional, able to work as a team member, and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task and take initiative.
