Job description

Position Summary:

Maintenance Technician I, to assist with the installation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. The maintenance technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by assisting with installing new equipment, performing regular services, preventative maintenance activities, following maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Executes routine maintenance inspections services to prevent machine issues.
  • Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
  • Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  • Document the tasks undertaken in reports.
  • Responsible for cleaning, organizing, inventorying, stocking, and maintaining shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Basic computer and report writing skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal – English required, bilingual preferred).
  • Ability to lift and manage substantial equipment.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Ability to stay on task with minimal oversight.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools or eagerness to learn.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help.
