Job description

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for estimating, scheduling, buying out subcontracts and material suppliers, writing subcontracts, and managing the project from conception to completion. This position oversees the project in its entirety and delivers significant value to the owner through value engineering, project coordination, and comprehensive oversight. This role involves projects with a scope that includes CSA (Civil/Structural/Architectural) work, MEP (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing) systems, production line equipment location/installation, and demolition of existing buildings, vessels, and tanks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all project activities to ensure objectives are accomplished safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Oversee projects involving CSA (Civil/Structural/Architectural), MEP (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing), production line equipment location and installation, and demolition of existing buildings, vessels, and tanks.
  • Monitor and control project budget and schedule; prepare and report project costs, progress, and forecasts.
  • Establish and execute detailed project work plans, including demolition plans, equipment installation sequences, and MEP coordination.
  • Review drawings and specifications for constructability, completeness, accuracy, and identify opportunities for value engineering in CSA, MEP, demolition, and equipment relocation scopes.
  • Prepare and submit pay applications, Requests for Information (RFI), Purchase Orders, Submittals, Change Orders, Claims, Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), and all other required project documentation.
  • Maintain open communication with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager and General Superintendent on allocation of shared resources (personnel and equipment).
  • Serve as the company representative at project meetings, hearings, or coordination sessions and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Perform in-depth review of all project elements to identify risks, challenges, or opportunities related to demolition, structural work, MEP systems, and equipment installation.
  • Supervise Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen (as assigned) and ensure all work meets company standards, quality plans, and safety requirements.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures; ensure full on-site compliance with project procedures, safety programs, work rules, and company policies.
    Apply expert knowledge in industrial construction, including heavy civil, structural, MEP systems, demolition, rigging, and risk management.
  • Promptly respond to project ad-hoc needs.
  • Regular attendance and performance of other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
  • Five years of project management experience in industrial construction, with hands-on experience managing CSA, MEP, demolition scopes, and equipment installation projects
  • Experience managing construction projects in beverage, bottling, dairy, or other food‑grade facilities, including sanitary‑design expectations and hygienic construction practices (preferred)
  • Ability to interpret and coordinate P&IDs, isometrics, mechanical drawings, utility tie‑ins, and production line layouts
  • Working knowledge of FDA, FSMA, and GMP requirements as they relate to construction activities, equipment installation, process areas, and documentation (preferred)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
  • Travel: Must be flexible to travel up to 100% and work on projects across the United States as needed
  • Must be able to pass drug tests and background checks
