Job description

Energy Efficiency Demand Response Coordinator.

The Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) provides a competitive edge to Massachusetts municipal utilities. We are currently seeking to fill an Energy Efficiency Demand Response Coordinator position, and we are looking for a talented individual to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the peak energy response operations of MMWEC’s residential, commercial and industrial in front of the meter asset programs and efforts. Along with this, you will be creating and maintaining effective relationships with our members and proactively anticipate clients’ energy demand needs through program participation.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Primary customer representative for MMWEC’s demand response programs. This includes being the primary responder to customer and contractor calls regarding demand response.
  • Acts as liaison with MLPs regarding program compliance and coordinating approvals from MLPs for program exception processing and communications.
  • Processes all demand response program applications for compliance or non-compliance. Reach out to all disconnected enrolled devices and assist homeowner with reconnection.
  • Administer new devices and home enrollments into the demand response program into the correct strategic groupings based on load zonal data of where device is located.
  • Work with analyst team to determine when to call peaks for different load zones under program purview.
  • Work with the program Distributed Energy Resources provider to run all technical capabilities of demand response programs, onboard new eligible manufacturers to the program and troubleshoot issues.
  • Create demand response programs and strategies to allow member utilities to use demand response to reduce peak loads.
  • Conduct ratepayer outreach within Member utility territories to enroll residential, commercial and industrial accounts into demand response programs and measures.
  • Respond to all MLP requests for reports and other information on activity of demand response programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor's Degree and 1 - 5 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience in Energy Efficiency, Demand Management, or other competitive market-driven utility programs, including process management experience.
  • Technical knowledge of DERMs platform preferred.
  • Some travel required to attend meetings and conferences.
