About This Opportunity

The Demand Planning Manager provides strategic and people leadership for the Demand Planning team, overseeing all aspects of demand planning, automated replenishment, inventory optimization, forecasting, and retail inventory execution. This leader is responsible for developing a high-performing team while driving continuous improvement, data integrity, and replenishment excellence across a complex retail network. 
The position is accountable for coaching and developing planners, establishing performance expectations, prioritizing workload, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Retail Partners, Merchandising, IT, and Analytics, the Demand Planning Manager ensures inventory strategies support customer service goals, maximize in-stock performance, and improve inventory productivity. 


Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibilities 

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Demand Planners through regular coaching, performance management, and career development. 
  • Establish team priorities, objectives, and workload balancing to ensure timely execution of all planning activities. 
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent while building succession plans. 
  • Develop KPIs and performance metrics for the team and conduct regular business reviews. 
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for replenishment, forecasting, and inventory issues. 
  • Influence cross-functional decisions and communicate effectively with senior leadership. 

Functional Responsibilities 

  • Own enterprise auto-replenishment strategy and replenishment logic across retail partners. 
  • Lead inventory planning, forecasting, store profile management, planogram alignment, audit programs, and data governance. 
  • Partner with operation system manager to improve automation, forecasting models, and replenishment systems. 
  • Support new retailer implementations, product launches, merchandising changes, and continuous process improvement. 
  • Develop executive dashboards and present recommendations to leadership. 

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Finance, Analytics, or related field. 
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, replenishment, inventory planning, or retail supply chain. 
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership with responsibility for hiring, coaching, developing, and evaluating employees. 
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders. 
  • Advanced Excel and experience with ERP, WMS, forecasting, or replenishment systems. 

Preferred 

  • Experience supporting large national retailers. 
  • Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytical tools. 
  • Experience implementing automation or AI-driven forecasting solutions.
