Job description

We are a 45-year-old company with a loyal, long-standing customer base and a strong reputation built on an established product portfolio. We are now entering a new phase of growth with the introduction of a new product designed for a new market. This role exists to lead that next chapter.

The Senior Director of Marketing will own the strategy and execution required to successfully take a new product into a new market-while thoughtfully supporting and protecting the strength of our existing business. This role will be comfortable moving between strategy and execution and will be as fluent in customer insights, messaging, and positioning as they are in lead generation, funnel management, and performance measurement.ย

As FairCom's Head of Marketing, you will:ย

  • Articulate the unique market strengths of our highly technical database products.ย
  • Define clear market positioning, build effective go-to-market and demand generation programs, and develop lead nurturing systems that convert interest into pipeline and revenue. At the same time, this role requires respect for the company's legacy, customers, and internal expertise. Success will depend on the ability to introduce new ideas without disrupting what already works, bring all stakeholders along through change, and balance innovation with continuity.
  • Partner with Sales and Product teams to align marketing strategy with how the business grows, which includes shared definitions of lead quality and pipeline contribution.
  • Practice servant leadership in your role and as the manager of the marketing team.ย
  • Travel to events and other office locations- expect to travel 30-35% of the year.ย
  • Develop FairCom's brand and voice, ensuring alignment across departments, content, and all customer touchpoints.ย

We need a versatile leader who can seamlessly pivot from high-level positioning to hands-on lead generation and funnel management. If you're an experienced Marketer who thrives at the intersection of technical strategy and creative execution, join us to architect our next chapter of global growth!

*This is a hybrid position in South Lake Tahoe that requires occasional travel to our offices in Utah and Missouri

Requirements

Requirements
  • 7+ years of marketing leadership experience supporting disciplined expansion into new markets or product categories within an established business.
  • 5+ years of technical B2B experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Marketing or a related field.
  • Proven people leadership, with experience building, managing, and developing high-performing marketing teams while fostering strong engagement and aligning cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business results
  • Strong proficiency in Marketing software systems such as HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, Drift, Bots, etc.
  • Knowledge of program and project management methodology is required to drive early-stage planning and cross-functional execution.
  • Strong track record that shows successful go-to-market strategies and programs with measurable impacts on revenue contribution.ย
  • Familiar with the basic concepts of a typical IT infrastructure, like servers, storage, business applications (ERP, CRM, BI, etc.), and the role a database plays in it.

Position Preferences

  • Technical fluency strongly preferred, ideally a CS or similar technical degree with ~10 years transitioning into marketing leadership; alternatively, deep marketing experience within a database or data infrastructure company
  • Master of Business Administration or other advanced Marketing/Technical education a plus.
  • Conversant in digital marketing channels and tools (e.g., Google Ads, HubSpot)-dangerous enough to understand and evaluate the work, while effectively managing internal specialists or external agencies.
  • Experience with FairCom DB, RTG, EDGE, IoT/IIoT, or competitors such as Litmus, Ignition, Influx, EnterpriseDB, MariaDB, etc.

Benefits

  • Empowered, Agile Teams:ย Collaborate with passionate colleagues in small, cross-functional teams that drive innovation. Enjoy the freedom to shape your work and contribute meaningfully.
  • Flexible Work-Life Balance:ย Achieve optimal work-life harmony with our hybrid work schedule, offering the best of both worlds: in-office collaboration and remote focus.
  • Generous Time Off:ย Recharge and rejuvenate with 15+ holidays, three weeks of paid vacation, a week of sick leave, and an extended holiday break for quality family time (skeleton crew operations).
  • Celebrate You:ย Enjoy a paid day off on your birthday and another on our annual "CEO Thank You Day" in March.
  • Invest in Your Growth:ย Benefit from a supportive environment where long-tenured colleagues share their expertise, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Rewarding Compensation:ย We value your contributions. Expect a competitive salary package aligned with industry standards.
  • Comprehensive Well-being Support:ย Protect what matters most with our robust benefits, including top-tier medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage. Plus, watch your savings grow with our 401(k) matching program.
  • Thrive Together:ย Build lasting connections and strengthen your skills through annual & quarterly engaging company-wide events and growth opportunities.
  • Fuel Your Focus:ย Stay energized and inspired with our fully stocked kitchen featuring delicious snacks, meals, and drinks.
  • Convenient Commute:ย Easily access our office with a prime location near I-70 in Missouri and I-15, as well as the South Jordan Front Runner station in Utah.

FairCom's long and dynamic history has been supported by a diverse team of coworkers, which we feel honored to have. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a working environment where diversity is celebrated.ย  We believe all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and we do not tolerate any behavior that runs contrary to this fundamental right, such as discrimination and harassment of any kind.
