Job description

Assistant Or Associate Professor In Animal And Dairy Science

The Department of Animal & Dairy Science at Delaware Valley University invites applications for two full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will begin in the Fall 2026 semester and will be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, student mentoring and departmental success.

Teaching Responsibilities

This position will teach a variety of undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses that support the department's curriculum. Courses may include, but are not limited to:

  • Introduction to Animal Science (lecture and lab)
  • Production-focused courses such as Meat Science, Beef Science, or Swine Science
  • Animal Reproduction
  • Animal Genetics
  • Other courses may be assigned based on the departmental needs and the candidate's expertise
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Teach courses and laboratories in Animal & Dairy Science
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Maintain regular office hours
  • Participate in curriculum development and outcomes assessment
  • Develop and maintain professional contacts within the industry
  • Remain current in the field through ongoing professional development and scholarship
  • Serve on faculty committees as assigned or elected
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Attend scheduled faculty, departmental and university meetings
  • Contribute to departmental operations and special initiatives
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to teach courses as needed by the department
Education And Experience
  • A Master's degree in Animal Science or a closely related field is required
  • A PhD in Animal Science or a D.V.M. with relevant experience is preferred
  • Prior experience teaching at the undergraduate level is required
