Job description

Customer Hospitality / Host

Department: Germaine’s Luau

Reports to: Guest Service Director

Status: Non-Exempt

Starting at $16.00/ Hr

  1. Job Purpose/Objective:

This position is responsible for delivering the highest quality of customer service and “ALOHA” to all guest and serving staff.  The incumbent must be able to assist customers attending the show upon their arrival.  Duties include meeting, greeting processing and escorting customers to their seats in a timely manner.

  1. Essential Job Functions:

Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Meet and greet customers as they arrive – supplying information as needed
  • Perform tasks at the following locations:
  • Box Office (Pre-Show)
    • Set up stanchions
    • Direct customers to the cashier or the ticket-issuing reservations
    • Queue customers in the lobby area prior to seating times (Deluxe, Standard Seating)
    • Assist customers that need special attention (elderly, small children, wheelchairs, etc.)
  • Showroom (Pre-Show)
    • Keep in radio contact with Box Office
    • Seat guests in Deluxe and/or Standard as directed
    • Assist customers with special needs to ensure comfort
  • Box Office (Post-Show)
    • Take down stanchions
    • Assist other departments as needed for closing operations
    • Attends all staff meetings for operational purposes and training
  • May be assigned other duties as needed by the Luau Manager on duty.
  • Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) – i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience or training needed but must have strong customer service attitude  
  • Must be personable and have a pleasant manner 
  • Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos 
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other Team Members with the organization 
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays 
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form 
  • Deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations 
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and efficiency 
  • Adapt to change, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, adjust plans to meet changing needs 
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing, create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, share information and ideas with others, has good listening skills 
  • Handle customer questions and complaints, communicate with customers, handle service problems politely and efficiently, always available for customers, follow procedure to solve customer problems, understand company products and services, maintain pleasant and professional image 
  • Meet commitments, work independently, accept accountability, handle change, set personal standards, stay focused under pressure, meet attendance/punctuality requirements 
  • Promote mutual respect, keep workplace clean and safe, support safety programs
