Job description

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a Controller to support our finance department.
Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with the Finance Director to oversee the daily operations of accounting such as but not limited to staff accountants, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Assisting with annual business plan and leading annual budget
  • Managing and maintaining accounting and banking relationships
  • Leading financial audits
  • Providing leadership/supervision to direct reports and prioritizing workloads
  • Verifying journal entries, month end close, and FAR compliance procedures
  • Reviewing monthly financial statement preparation, complete analysis, and provide financial support to management
  • Coordinating local and state tax reporting and notices
  • Administering accounting system operations
  • Leading ongoing improvement and refinement and maintaining strong internal controls
  • Conducting financial planning activities, preparing cash forecasts, and analyzing budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations

The successful candidate will have:
  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least ten (10) years of relevant experience

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
  • Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Accounting and banking relationships
  • Annual budget and business plan
  • Supervising and mentoring staff
  • General ledger analysis, month end close outs, financial data analysis
  • Software conversions and updates
  • Corporate, state, local taxes and financial audits
  • Accounting software (Deltek Vision, Dynamics)

The ideal candidate will also be a certified public accountant.
