Job description

Role: Delivery Manager
Business Line    Health, Annuity & Life
Location:  Piscataway, NJ ( Hybrid / Client-facing)
Seniority : Senior / Principal

ROLE OVERVIEW
Client is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to lead a large-scale, multi-year modernisation programme for a major third-party administrator (TPA) operating in the Health and Annuity space. The programme centres on the uplift and transformation of the client's core administration system, spanning Health and Annuity business lines, and is one of the most strategically significant engagements in Synechron's Health, Annuity & Life practice.
This is a high-visibility, client-facing role requiring a delivery leader who combines deep programme management rigour with strong stakeholder relationship skills and a proactive, outcomes-driven mindset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Ownership & Governance
  • Own scope, timelines, quality, and risk end-to-end, with no ambiguity on accountability
  • Ensure commitments are realistic, clearly defined, and consistently met
  • Maintain a proactive stance on risk — identify issues early, track rigorously, and always have mitigation options ready
  • Manage dependencies across the core programme and related initiatives; maintain a clear view of the wider programme landscape
  • Drive governance cadences that are effective without being bureaucratic
Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Keep stakeholders informed with clear, concise, and regular updates — no surprises
  • Build trust and confidence with client stakeholders through consistency, transparency, and follow-through
  • Manage expectations proactively; surface risks and issues early rather than reactively
  • Ensure alignment between business stakeholders, delivery teams, and senior leadership
  • Escalate risks and blockers decisively, with recommended paths forward
Team Leadership & Delivery Enablement
  • Remove blockers and create the conditions in which teams can execute effectively
  • Trust your team and foster a culture of accountability, autonomy, and continuous improvement
  • Champion a progressive, iterative delivery approach — avoid reactive or fire-fighting patterns
  • Ensure teams have the clarity, tools, and support they need to deliver quality outcomes
Outcomes & Value Focus
  • Drive delivery that is aligned to business outcomes and stakeholder value — not just milestone tracking
  • Ensure programme goals translate into tangible, measurable results for the client
  • Maintain the strategic thread between day-to-day delivery and the broader transformation objectives

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Essential
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale,complex, multi-year technology programmes
  • Experience in financial services or insurance technology — ideally within TPA, life, health, or annuity administration
  • Strong command of delivery frameworks (Agile, hybrid, or scaled) and governance best practices
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills — comfortable engaging at C-suite and programme board level
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk rigorously, with a forward-looking, solutions-oriented approach
  • Experience managing distributed teams of 15–25 people across technical and functional workstreams
  • High-quality written and verbal communication — able to distil complex delivery status into clear, actionable narratives
Desirable
  • Familiarity with core administration system modernisation or platform migration programmes
  • Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Exposure to cross-programme dependency management and portfolio-level reporting
  • Relevant certifications: PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent

Flexible work from home options available.
