Job Summary:
A driver helper works with drivers to deliver products or equipment to customers and clients. Driver helpers are responsible for all tasks, such as loading and unloading the truck, interacting with customers, and filling out paperwork and/or utilizing the handheld to record deliveries. Driver helper is a full-time position and may include the need to work overtime. This is a fast-paced, outdoor position that requires the ability to continually lift items and carry packages. Early starts and late finishes are common with this job. Applicants for this role should have excellent physical fitness, great customer service skills, and the ability to multitask and adhere to tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Driver-Salesman with delivery of Bob Hall products and/or assist the warehouse with general maintenance tasks as requested.
  • Report to work at assigned starting time. If unable to work due to illness and/or emergency, notify your immediate supervisor by 5 a.m.
  • Follow direction from Driver and assist in all delivery functions such as: delivery of all supplier's products in and first-in / first-out basis. Deliver all products according to retailer needs.
  • If assigned, perform general maintenance tasks or other assistance as requested by the operations department or the warehouse manager on duty.
  • Helper, as well as other employees, will comply with all Company policies, rules, and regulations, which are subject to change as times and conditions warrant.
  • Great customer service skills, excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Preforming other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Physical demands and abilities:
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. occasionally lift and/or ability to move objects that weigh more than 165 lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.

Education:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
