Job description

SUMMARY

The ACE Hardware Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of customer purchases that may include but not limited to Lumber, Appliances, Furniture, Grills, Power Equipment and Rental Equipment and pickup of rental equipment, including transportation of customer-owned items for repair. The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-focused, safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and has a strong commitment to delivering excellent service.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate a company vehicle to deliver and pick up rental equipment to and from customer locations.
  • Pick up equipment from customers for repair and return it upon completion.
  • Safely drive and maneuver a truck with a trailer, navigating urban and rural areas as needed.
  • Operate rental equipment (e.g., mowers, small loaders, tillers) for loading/unloading and demonstration purposes.
  • Plan delivery routes efficiently and follow GPS directions to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Maintain clean driving records and uphold all safety and traffic regulations.
  • Ensure all deliveries and pickups are documented accurately.
  • Provide friendly, helpful customer service, representing the ACE Hardware brand with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Follows all store and department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Background Check to be considered for employment.
