Software Delivery Analyst

Sweetwater, the nation's number one online retailer of music instruments and pro audio gear is seeking a driven, motivated, and passionate Software Delivery Analyst to join our Shared Services team! As a Delivery Analyst, your primary responsibility is to deliver value efficiently and effectively to our customers. This involves understanding the desired outcomes and breaking them down into deliverable pieces of value. Additionally, you will be organizing and aligning teams within Sweetwater to execute the work successfully.

A crucial aspect of delivering value to customers is understanding their needs, motivations, and workloads. Building strong relationships, maintaining a positive attitude in all interactions, encouraging collaboration, and facilitating conversations are key skills for this role. You will need to develop and cultivate relationships with customers at all levels of the business, becoming a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Collaboration with Software Engineering Managers is essential in your role as a Delivery Analyst. You will work closely with them to break down the work and bring clarity to the overall project success. It is important to identify and resolve bottlenecks, especially work waiting on another team, together with Software Engineering managers.

Managing and prioritizing the engineering backlog, analyzing specifications, and coordinating and collaborating with engineering teams on development tasks are part of your daily tasks. You will also be responsible for defining and communicating project deadlines. Flexibility and a pragmatic approach are crucial in this role. You will optimize practices for effective delivery through coaching, experimentation, and continuous learning. As a Delivery Analyst, your focus should be on ensuring the team fully understands the desired business outcomes, planning the work effectively, and ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively.

Ultimately, you will champion an outcome-focused approach, measure the alignment of deliverables with business values and objectives, and make decisions based on data, intuition, and experience. In summary, your responsibilities include data analysis, technical analysis, and project management. You will ensure effective communication between stakeholders, translate technical information for non-technical individuals, and lead project-related activities such as organizing meetings, establishing timelines, and providing progress updates in a professional manner.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for management of technical and software projects for stakeholders throughout the enterprise
  • Simplify complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment.
  • Ensure ongoing communication plans while leading customer and technical meetings
  • Establishing project milestones and timelines, and providing regular progress updates
  • Work closely with engineering leadership to identify critical systems that require changes and essential features that need to be developed to achieve desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to execute low impact scripts, contributing to data-related tasks within projects
  • Leverage relevant tools to analyze and interpret data, extracting valuable insights to inform decision-making processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • 2-6+ years of experience as a Software Delivery Analyst, Business Analyst, or Software Project Manager
  • Experience guiding and managing technical projects from inception to completion and delivery
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to talk through technical and business challenges with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Jira or other project management/delivery tools
  • Experience with SQL or other data tools would be a plus
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Python would be great.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once.
