Job Description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties related to the deli department and assists in fulfilling customer orders at the deli counter with professional and efficient service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Operates a deli/cheese slicer
  • Prepares, packages, and prices product as directed
  • Assists customers with orders placed at deli counter
  • Stocks and rotates merchandise as directed
  • Maintains a current knowledge of product
  • Provides assistance to meat and seafood departments as needed
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area free of hazards
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Samples product at the direction of the department manager

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Demonstrates proper phone etiquette while taking orders/messages
  • Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
