Head of M&A

Safe Life US

Brentwood, TN โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Posted 12 days ago

Job description

Description:

Safe Life is one of the fastest-growing providers of AEDs and life-saving readiness programs, united by a clear mission: helping communities Prevent Heartbreak. We deliver more than products - we provide end-to-end programs that combine equipment, training, and compliance support to keep organizations rescue-ready.

Safe Life US company is seeking a strategic, detail oriented and reliable Head of Mergers and Acquisition to join our growing team! This is a unique moment to join us. We’re scaling rapidly, investing in our people, and building a high-performing team focused on real impact. If you’re looking for work that challenges you and truly matters, you’ll find it here.

The Head of Mergers & Acquisitions plays a key role in identifying, evaluating, and executing acquisitions of founder-owned businesses across the Company’s priority markets. This is not a purely desk-based M&A role -success comes from building trusted relationships with business owners, understanding their businesses, and guiding them through the acquisition process with confidence and transparency. The role leads deals from first meeting through closing and partners closely with the Company’s broader Corporate Development team, including integration support from the Company’s international (Sweden-based) M&A team.

*Note: This is an individual contributor role, not a team-management position. We're specifically looking for someone who has not yet held a Head, Director, or VP-level title, but who is ready to step into that scope of ownership and grow into it through hands-on deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Relationship Building

  • Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities within the Company’s priority markets.
  • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with business owners and entrepreneurs.
  • Represent the Company throughout the market and within relevant industries.
  • Travel regularly to meet current and prospective acquisition targets, visit companies, and develop long-term relationships.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to founders throughout the process, educating them on the M&A process and helping them navigate each step.

Deal Execution

  • Personally lead and execute acquisition discussions from the first meeting through closing, in partnership with the broader Corporate Development team.
  • Individually evaluate quality of earnings, workforce base, contracts, and market strength.
  • Directly support commercial evaluation, financial analysis, and due diligence.
  • Coordinate internal and external advisors (legal, financial, diligence) throughout the transaction process, without delegating execution to direct reports.
  • Own deal execution through close as an individual contributor, with integration support from the Company's international (Sweden-based) M&A team.
  • Remain the trusted point of contact for acquired teams following close.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or another commercially focused role.
  • Preference for candidates based in the greater Nashville or Atlanta metro areas.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the entire M&A transaction process. Experience managing transactions through close strongly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with high emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust with entrepreneurs and business owners.
  • Comfortable operating in a private equity-backed environment with a focus on growth and value creation.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to build something meaningful.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to effectively work independently, as well as with a team at all levels.
  • Previous acquisition experience is an advantage, but not a requirement

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office or remote environment, including extended periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, video, and in person.
  • Ability to travel regularly to meet business owners, visit companies, and attend meetings (estimated 40%).
