Purpose of Position:

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking Seasonal General Production Workers. Del Monte Foods in Plover, Wisconsin is hiring Seasonal General Production Workers – Grade 3 to support pack season operations involving specialized equipment, forklift operation, CDL driving, cookroom processes, waste handling, and product flow coordination. Employees may operate industrial equipment, transport materials, complete production documentation, support product movement, and assist with operational efficiency throughout the facility. Positions may require overtime, weekends, flexible schedules, and extended shifts during peak production periods.

Schedules may include day or night shift assignments, overtime, weekends, and shifts up to 12 hours per day during peak production periods. Seasonal employment typically begins in June and may continue through October with opportunities for extended work through late November/early December based on operational needs and employee performance.


Accountabilities:

Seasonal General Production Worker Grade 3 employees perform advanced operational, equipment operation, transportation, material handling, cookroom, and production support duties in a food manufacturing environment. Employees in these positions may operate forklifts, retorts, tanker trucks, yard trucks, waste systems, and other specialized equipment while supporting production flow, food safety, quality, and operational efficiency.


Employees may be assigned to various operational areas based on business needs, certifications, qualifications, and production demands. Work areas may include retort operations, forklift and crate handling operations, yard truck and grading operations, waste pit operations, tanker truck operations, product movement and material handling, product flow coordination, receiving and staging support, Production documentation and process monitoring, CDL driving assignments, and general operational support.


Key Responsibilities for General Production Grade 3 Roles

Employees may perform duties in one or more operational areas, including:

  • Operate forklifts (Glass Only), retorts, tanker trucks, yard trucks, or other industrial equipment
  • Maintain safe and efficient movement of product, crates, trailers, and materials throughout the facility
  • Monitor production flow, waste systems, cookroom operations, and equipment performance
  • Complete operational, safety, production, transportation, and quality documentation accurately
  • Assist with grading, weighing, sampling, or receiving activities
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, pits, staging areas, and production spaces
  • Support sanitation and cleanup activities throughout assigned areas
  • Follow food safety, GMP, DOT, DNR, and workplace safety requirements
  • Communicate operational concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to leadership
  • Assist with cross-functional operational support as assigned


Training

  • On-the-job training is provided for all assigned work areas. Employees may be cross trained in multiple operational functions based on business needs.


Seasonal Incentives

To support employees during our peak pack season, Del Monte Foods offers select incentives for eligible seasonal workers. These incentives are designed to assist with temporary relocation and seasonal work demands and may include:

  • Housing assistance or housing incentives
  • Transportation allowance
  • Sanitation Bonus (for eligible employees)



These incentives are available only during the active pack season (typically June through early October) and are subject to eligibility requirements, availability, and business needs. Incentives may be modified or discontinued at any time based on operational conditions.


Minimum Skills Required:

  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards during extended shifts
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision in assigned areas
  • Ability to complete production and operational documentation accurately
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, lift, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to safely work around forklifts, trailers, conveyors, hot surfaces, steam, industrial equipment, and moving machinery
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules during peak production periods
  • Reliable attendance and dependability throughout the seasonal production period
  • Previous manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse, transportation, forklift, or industrial experience
  • Previous experience operating forklifts, industrial trucks, or production equipment
  • CDL license or commercial driving experience for applicable assignments – training provided if required
  • Experience working in cookroom, waste handling, receiving, or product flow operations
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with production documentation or inventory tracking
  • Forklift certification or material handling experience
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus but not required.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, military service, agricultural work, manufacturing experience, warehouse experience, or related work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
