Job description

Accountable for enterprise-wide IT and digital strategy, ensuring alignment of technology initiatives with overall business objectives. Drives digital transformation, innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency. Oversees IT programs, systems, cybersecurity, and data governance. Effectively guides performance of all information services programs, systems, and equipment used in the support and operation and strategic development of the company. Responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive IT and digital strategy, managing enterprise architecture, and ensuring strong governance across all technology platforms, including assets ashore and on‑board company‑owned or operated vessels. Collaborates with other business executives and, when needed, leads projects to support innovation initiatives, including AI adoption, data governance, and business intelligence activities as well as support operations projects requiring IT support. Acts as the primary liaison for technology partnerships, vendor negotiations, Maersk collaboration.

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for enterprise‑wide IT and digital initiatives
  • Serve as trusted advisor to leadership, aligning technology priorities with customer needs and market trends
  • Supervise and direct the IT Department within current Maersk Line, Limited policies and procedures
  • Build and develop high‑performing technology teams and vendor partnerships that scale with growth
  • Coach and mentor IT/IS professionals to create a world‑class technology organization
  • Develop, deploy, and manage the technology budget to align business and technology strategy while continually analyzing costs, value, and risks
  • Establish frameworks for technology standards, cybersecurity, compliance and risk management within Maersk Line, Limited. Frameworks must adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practice
  • Maintain an enterprise‑wide security program to protect company information
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including CMMC, USCG regulations and NIST, to ensure resilience against evolving threats
  • Support commitment to safety and other selected company standards and certifications
  • Represent the company in technology forums, industry groups, and regulatory discussions
  • Perform other position‑related duties as specified by management
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology related field
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the development, deployment and support of IT systems for both operational and commercial purposes
  • Experience in developing business cases for the deployment of IT systems in operational and commercial environments
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), ERP systems, and cybersecurity frameworks
  • A well‑developed set of management and leadership skills, able to work without supervision and deal with multiple tasks simultaneously and well developed organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining a security clearance from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). MLL is a drug‑free work environment and requires employees to take random drug tests during their employment with the company
  • This position requires access to vessels and safety sensitive facilities and therefore requires a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
