Job description

Job Title: Training Specialist Mid – Sensor Manager Qualification Course
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
 
Introduction:
Rivet Operations Company, LLC, has an opening for a Training Specialist for the Sensor Manager Qualification Course. This position will support the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence (SMDCoE) also known as the US SMD School. SMD School (SMDS) core functions include: 1) Educate, train, and develop leaders for Space and Missile Defense operations; 2) Develop Army Doctrine for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense; 3) Develop individual and collective training tasks for Space and Missile Defense operations; 4) Train and educate the Army at large in Space and Missile Defense; and 5) Execute the US Army’s Quality Assurance Program to ensure standards are met in the education, training, and leadership development of Soldiers and Civilians.
 
This position will provide support to the Functional Training Division in the Missile Defense Training Branch and the Sensor Manager Qualification Course.

Responsibilities:
• Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge of space capabilities and support to Army operations.
• Conduct training on Army Navy / Transportable Radar Surveillance (AN/TPY-2) Forward Based Mode (FBM), Global Missile Defense (GMD), Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC), and C2BMC Planner operations.
• Analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain education and training in accordance with TR 350-70 series and Army accreditation standards
• Conduct research on new threats and developing Army missile defense capabilities, update existing training materials as necessary, and develop new training materials after analyzing the results of the research. Research shall include coordination with other SMDS training divisions to ensure training materials updated or developed are current, accurate, and aligned with Army School institutional training materials. 
• Travel to conduct training as required.

Requirements:
• Minimum of a High School education.
• 5+ years of missile defense, radar, or C2BMC related military experience.
• Understanding of missile defense fundamentals and missile defense operations.
• Experience and understanding of military operations.
• Experience with Command and Control (C2) systems such as ADSI, Tac Planner
• Experience evaluating personnel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Previous instructor-facilitator experience.
• Ability to brief higher ranking officials.
• Understand the MDMP process.
• Ability to articulate missile defense to non-missile defense personnel.
• Knowledge and understanding of the ADDIE model.
• Travel to conduct training as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MOSQ: 14H, 140A with ASI Y7 and/or ASI D4
• Graduate of a military instructor training course (CFD-IC, ITC/SGITC, FIFC, ABIC, AFBIC, etc.).
• Sensor Manager Qualification Course (SMQC), Sensor Manager Leadership Development Course (SMLDC), or other relevant space or missile defense courses.
• Experience with/knowledge of planning tools such as C2BMC Planner/FBM Planner
• Previous assignments in THAAD, Patriot, Aegis
• Working knowledge of scheduled maintenance planning cycles for military equipment
• Ability to perform quality research on capabilities/limitations of threat missile systems

Security:
Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
