The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an ambitious and client-focused Senior Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) to join their growing Building Consultancy team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveyor looking to take the next step in their career, leading projects, developing key client relationships and mentoring junior team members within a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you'll gain exposure to commercial, residential, education, healthcare, industrial, retail, public sector and defence schemes. You'll be involved in everything from professional building surveying services through to delivering complex refurbishment, fit-out and new build projects.

Backed by private equity investment, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth, providing genuine opportunities for career progression, leadership and professional development. You'll also have the opportunity to work on high-profile defence and secure-sector projects, offering technically challenging work that few consultancies can provide.

Whether you're delivering large-scale developments exceeding £30 million or managing specialist refurbishment and asset improvement projects, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional outcomes for a broad and varied client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a wide range of Building Surveying and Project Management commissions.
  • Manage client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat business and new work.
  • Provide professional advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of commercial, residential, education, healthcare and public sector buildings.
  • Undertake building, condition and measured surveys.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
  • Administer building contracts and act as Contract Administrator.
  • Diagnose and report on building defects, recommending practical remedial solutions.
  • Prepare schedules of dilapidations.
  • Advise on planning matters, building regulations and statutory compliance.
  • Deliver refurbishment, extension and new-build projects ranging from approximately £50,000 to £30m+.
  • Undertake Party Wall matters, including Notices, Schedules of Condition and Awards.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Manage project finances, forecasting and commercial performance.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior surveyors.
  • Carry out technical reviews to ensure consistently high standards across project delivery.
About You
  • MRICS qualification.
  • Previous Building Surveying consultancy experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge across core Building Surveying disciplines.
  • Experience delivering both professional services and project work.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to identify and win new business opportunities.
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong analytical, report writing and problem-solving skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
  • The ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC), due to the nature of some client projects.
Why Join Our Client?

Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary building consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. Backed by private equity investment, the business is entering an exciting period of sustained growth, creating genuine opportunities for ambitious Building Surveyors to progress into Associate and Director-level positions.

You’ll join a collaborative team working on an impressive portfolio of commercial, residential, education, healthcare, industrial, public sector and defence projects. Their involvement in secure and defence-sector programmes offers access to technically challenging, high-profile work that is rarely available elsewhere in the market.

The business invests heavily in its people, providing the autonomy to manage projects, build long-term client relationships and develop professionally. With a strong pipeline of work, significant investment behind the business and a clear growth strategy, this is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor looking to make a real impact while accelerating their career.
