Job description

Description and requirements

You will be working in the Building Operating Unit where we are responsible for a major project in Cambridgeshire.

We are currently looking for an Engineer who will be responsible for effectively and professionally plan, manage, coordinate and monitor the Engineering aspects of sub-contract packages associated with the construction works including excavation, drainage, HV cabling and substation build to assist with the successful delivery of a large defence project.

As the Engineer you will:

  • Provide progress updates to the rest of the team.
  • Manage 3rd party survey teams and liaise with external stakeholders (base personnel).
  • Manage the site engineering activities in accordance with Skanska's Environmental, Health, Safety and quality procedures.
  • Lead both the pre-construction and construction phase of utility works.
  • Site management and engineering duties including progress checks against programme, QA checks, H&S compliance etc.

We are looking for:

  • Minimum BTEC HNC/HND or BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience on projects of equivalent complexity.
  • Experience with HV (UKPN) and sewage pumps / pipework.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certificate a requirement.
  • Quality management skills.

Security Clearance 
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
