HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking is a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. Through our international network, we connect emerging and mature markets, covering key growth areas. We partner with our corporate, government and institutional clients to help them achieve consistent, long-term performance. Our products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales and transaction banking.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as GNB Relationship Manager, CIB.

In this role, you will:

Client portfolio ownership & coverage

  • Own and manage an assigned portfolio of Global Network Banking (GNB) clients in Vietnam, acting as the primary point of contact and accountable owner of the client relationship and overall client experience.
  • Develop and maintain a structured coverage plan (contact strategy, call cadence, pipeline, wallet share targets and prioritisation) to drive sustainable revenue growth and client engagement across the portfolio.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders (including RM Support and relevant service/operations teams) to ensure efficient, accurate and timely execution of client requests and day-to-day servicing, resolving issues proactively and escalating appropriately.

Revenue growth & business development

  • Deliver financial and non-financial performance objectives (KPIs) as set by the Bank from time to time, aligned to GNB Vietnam’s strategy and business plan.
  • Drive portfolio growth through new-to-bank acquisition and deepening/uptiering of existing relationships, including identifying cross-sell opportunities across lending and non-lending solutions.
  • Build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline, converting identified opportunities into executed transactions while maintaining strong discipline on pricing, returns and risk/reward balance.

Collaboration across global/regional teams & product partners

  • Maintain regular and effective engagement with Product Partners and relevant global/regional coverage teams (e.g., GRM/GRB and regional relationship teams) to originate opportunities, coordinate client strategy, and deliver joined-up coverage for multinational clients.
  • Coordinate internal account plans and client strategies across borders to ensure HSBC presents “one bank” to the customer, with clear roles, responsibilities and hand-offs.

Credit, risk management & portfolio quality

  • Deepen relationships while actively managing the portfolio’s risk profile in line with approved operating plans, risk appetite, and credit guidelines.
  • Monitor credit and non-credit early warning indicators, maintain high-quality client information, and take timely actions (including escalation) to protect portfolio quality and minimise losses.
  • Ensure all credit submissions, reviews, and client-related approvals are supported by complete, accurate analysis and documentation, delivered within required timelines.

Financial Crime Risk (First Line of Defence) & controls

  • Act as First Line of Defence for Financial Crime Risk (including AML, sanctions, bribery & corruption and fraud risk) by understanding client activity, identifying and escalating unusual/suspicious matters promptly, and ensuring appropriate due diligence standards are met.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to Group policies, local regulatory requirements, and internal control standards to minimise financial, regulatory and reputational risk.
  • Maintain a strong conduct and controls culture, ensuring operational losses and control breaches arising from process failures are minimised through disciplined execution and timely issue remediation.

Client service & customer experience

  • Maximise customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality relationship management, providing accurate and timely information on products and services, and tailoring solutions to client needs.
  • Take ownership of service issues through to resolution, coordinating across internal teams and maintaining clear communication with clients.

Change, projects & continuous improvement

  • Contribute to and deliver assigned projects and change initiatives (GNB, CIB and/or the Bank), ensuring agreed outcomes, timelines and controls are met while maintaining business-as-usual performance.
