Job description

We are seeking an experienced A Level Generator Field Service Technician in Northern Jersey areas for our Power Generation Client!!

Pay is $42 - $48/hr depending on experience, plus overtime, full benefits, and sign-on bonuses at many of our employers.

Day shift, Monday to Friday, plus an on-call rotation for emergency service.

If you can troubleshoot paralleling switchgear, transfer switches, and megawatt class gen sets, you are in demand right now, and the pay reflects it.

What you will do:

  • Diagnose, repair, and commission diesel and gas generator sets from small standby units through 2MW and larger
  • Troubleshoot paralleling switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and generator controls
  • Run startups, load bank testing, and site acceptance on new installations
  • Keep accurate service records and get critical sites back online fast

What we are looking for:

  • 7+ years on industrial generators, or heavy-duty diesel with strong electrical controls depth
  • Comfortable inside switchgear and control panels, reading prints and schematics
  • Factory training on Kohler, Cummins, Cat, MTU, or Generac, EGSA certification a plus
  • Your own hand tools, valid driver license, willing to carry an on-call rotation
