Summary

Join Deep Roots Harvest as our Operations Manager, where you will lead and support the General Manager by supervising a dynamic team, and overseeing the operations of a high-volume cannabis retail store and a regional delivery service. As a pivotal figure in our growth, you'll collaborate closely with supervisors and Retail Hosts, driving success through strategic leadership and operational excellence.

You will conduct weekly meetings with team members and leaders to address and resolve operational challenges promptly, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. By maintaining robust relationships with departments including Marketing, Purchasing, and Wholesale-you'll ensure all location needs are met with precision.

Your role includes overseeing and coordinating team efforts to maintain accurate records of dispensary activities, including daily cash reconciliations, sales, deliveries, and returns, in full compliance with state laws and company standards. Additionally, you'll assist in scheduling and conducting regular financial and compliance audits, holding each location accountable for its performance. Overview

The Operations Manager role is to support the inspiration, leadership, and management of a retail organization by setting clear expectations, holding store team members accountable, and setting goals that focus on key performance indicators driving profitable transactions. This role requires an entrepreneur's mindset, strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for the cannabis industry.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership

  • Execute the strategy and vision set by the company and the retail store General Manager
  • Ensure retail location is operating to maximize financial performance and delivering on financial budgets (including P&L) while delivering a superior customer experience consistent with our brand standards
  • Achieve revenue, profit, and KPIs as prescribed by the company
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive sales growth, increase profitability, and achieve KPIs
  • Work with marketing and purchasing teams on promotional opportunity strategies

Team Leadership

  • Inspire and enforce the standards set by the company and your general manager
  • Assist the general manager in building and maintaining a strong store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training associates
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to operational leads and staff to ensure operational excellence and exceptional customer service
  • Lead the performance management process for location employees and continuously improve competencies with the support of HR
  • Empower operational leads and staff to recognize and align on a selling strategy supportive of the store and market needs
  • Drive performance by successfully coaching and developing retail associates through feedback, recognition, and training
  • In collaboration with the GM, build and retain a highly engaged team that represents company values and delivers outcomes as prescribed by the company

Brand Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, merchandising, and inventory management to optimize store performance
  • Develop, in partnership with the marketing team, creative market strategies that are implemented by the store leadership teams to drive both topline and bottom-line growth while maintaining the highest level of regulatory compliance
  • Represent the company and its image with the highest level of integrity in and out of the workplace

Customer Experience Leadership

  • Deliver and execute plans that enables the store teams to focus on creating engagement and loyalty in their community
  • Create awareness of and build capabilities in the dispensary around product and customer service/satisfaction by fostering a culture that supports our core values with team members through leadership engagement
  • Coach the team through operational changes to solve customer issues identified from customer feedback surveys
  • Maximize sales and profitability while maintaining and increasing standards of customer service.
  • Provide the team with a stimulating and supportive environment
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Provide an unsurpassed experience as prescribed by the company

Personal Leadership

  • Thoroughly understand and implement all aspects of regulatory compliance and work with GM to manage all risks associated with running a privileged retail cannabis licensed dispensary.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, innovate solutions, and navigate challenges.
  • Be accountable for continuous management of cash handling
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed
  • Successfully manage all aspects of the stores' operations
  • Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and compliance standards to ensure adherence to state regulations
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to inform business decisions and drive innovation
  • Drive to be their best self, continuously seeking feedback to improve performance, and being resilient and adaptable
  • Do what it takes with integrity to get things done
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Participate in the training and development of staff to enhance performance and service quality.
  • Assist the GM with preparing performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Assist the GM with preparation of disciplinary documents and performance evaluations.

Expected Hours of Work

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
