Job description

SUMMARY
Builds high quality steel structures; coordinates & manages personnel, and serves as liaison with General Contractor and other subcontractors under standards set forth by Deem Structural Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directly supervises steel erection crew generally numbering 5-10 personnel.
Working closely with the Project Manager, represents the Company to clients, general contractors, subcontractors and others with integrity and professionalism.
Teaches and enforces Company policies and safety regulations.
Preplans daily work activities in advance to accomplish the weekly plan set by the Project Manager
Monitors and evaluates performance and productivity of assigned workers and leads them to achieve their best possible output in both quantity and quality.
Fills out and appropriately distributes daily and weekly reports.
Conducts weekly safety meetings, enforces safety policies and refers violations to safety director for appropriate disciplinary action.
Attends weekly jobsite “sub-contractor meetings” and coordinates laborer activities with the general contractor and other subcontractors.
Notifies equipment managers of problems with equipment.
Leads by example, and serves as mentor to crew members.

Must be able to verbally communicate effectively and professionally with superiors, peers, subordinates, customers, and other subcontractors.
Must have good basic organizational skills.
Must be able to read, interpret and explain blueprints to subordinates.
Must have working knowledge of cranes, rigging and load charts.
Must be able to plan ahead and demonstrate initiative.
Must have current working knowledge of pertinent OSHA regulations.
